Reinterpreting the main design elements of the Harlequin personage and made by experienced craftsmen with unmistakable techniques, the HARLEQUIN stirs the emotions like theatre play.
Harlequin is the most famous personage of Commedia dell'arte (popular theater that appears in century XV in Italy), who’s function at the beginning was restricted to amuse the public during the intervals of the spectacles. The importance of the character gradually increased and his costume, made of multicolored patchwork usually in the shape of a diamond, still highlighted him more in scene.
This form of theater with street performances and public squares by itinerant theater companies was displayed on carts or small makeshift stages and had complete freedom to improvise and interact with the public. It was from here founded a new style and a new language, characterized by the use of the comic, where the pieces revolved around meetings and amorous disagreements, with an unexpected happy ending.
